With all the things I've been struggling with lately I've found comfort in a Christian song that I've recently heard. This song is great when one is facing difficult times and spiritual attacks. I pray that I too may be unbreakable in my spiritual walk and that I may continue to dream. Check it out and pay close attention to the lyrics!
I was once told that there are only three places you can be on your faith-walk as a Christ-follower:

2. In the midst of a "storm"
3. Emerging from a "storm"
It is just human nature to want a comfortable existence far away from fiery trials, but the longer I walk, the more I realize how much God desires for us to embrace the storms of life while clinging to Him, as tough and as contrary to what our flesh is screaming. (Believe me, I have not arrived :)) But I would like to encourage you with a scripture, because trials are nothing more than faith builders in God's eyes!
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer. That's pretty insightful and uplifting. It's pretty easy to sometimes forget that others are currently or have recently gone through some difficult times as well. I guess that's why it's so comforting when we hear the type of things you just mentioned.
