I stumbled across a very interesting thing this morning.
The book of John is the only gospel that ends with this statement...
25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
Okay, first of all we already know that Jesus did many many things. But when you see this is the very last statement in the last book of the gospels it's so encouraging to think you can use your own imagination and think of other things that Jesus did. The fact that it's placed in the last book of the gospels is kind of like an opening for the story to be continued.
Don't you just love it when a movie you really like does that for you? The way it might end in a way for it to be continued?
How excited do you get?
Of course we love to hear the familiar stories of Jesus healing the lepers, restoring sight to the blind and raising the dead, but to think of the simple fact that "the half has never been told" is simply so encouraging.
What do you imagine Jesus did that didn't get recorded?
This simple discovery has really got me wondering and thinking about how great our Saviour truly is!!
...I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written!
