You Did Not Do For Me

Okay guys, yesterday I learned a very important thing during Communion.

But first a confession needs to be made. I haven't been the best servant I know I need to be. There have been people that I could have helped with various things. People who aren't physically able to do certain jobs or chores that I am perfectly capable of doing. People who need a good ear to listen to them and some of the problems they are facing. And some who just need to know that they have a friend in me. While I haven't blatantly ignored or "shunned" these people I haven't exactly been stepping up to the plate and being there for them.

And then it happened...

I was about to take Communion and God spoke to me and said, "whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me." Matthew 25:45 Ouch!!!

Needless to say I took notice. I repented for the people I neglected and since then my outlook has been totally different. Every person I see now reminds me of this scripture and now I can't help but to see the Lord in everyone I look at. Every opportunity to help or serve someone has become an opportunity to help or serve the Lord. And believe me, that's the least I can do for a Lord who served and gave me everything!

  1. Shamefully we are all fail God by failing to help others when we should. Thanks for reminding me of this scripture Joe. This is truely a way of life God calls us to constantly follow.

  2. Its funny Joe - I didnt read your blog before I just posted mine - & they sort of tie in together!

That we would "SEE" with the eyes of Christ. See that EVERYONE is a Child of God's - see the opportunity to do as you said - serve others/serve Him!

Your message is very impacting! Thank you for reminding me as well!
