Safe?

I would have to say that our small group time together last night was what I feel to be the best time we've ever shared together. Let me put it like this, our friendships and spiritual walks were stretched and strengthened in a way that is utterly indescribable!
Healing and accountability took the spotlight last night and one of the big lessons we talked about is one that is on my heart to share this morning.

We all know that anywhere there is an opening to your house (an open window, an unlocked door, your chimney etc.) you have increased the chances a thief has of getting in and robbing you blind. So why in the world do we think it would be any different with Satan, the ultimate thief???

The question was this...

Are there any "secret sins" or "openings" that Satan has been using to rob you of a healthy marriage?

Wow! What a question.

In other words are you making it easier for the thief to come in and rob you blind or do you have one of the best security structures ever created?

As I was thinking about that this morning I ran across this scripture.

13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

When the devil tempted Jesus and failed he went away and left him alone but only UNTIL ANOTHER OPPORTUNE TIME!

How many of us fall victim to the thought that just because we made it through one attack we are automatically okay to just let our guard down?

Like since we made it through one burglary attempt and the thief failed we can just go ahead and leave all the windows open and doors unlocked.

Satan is always looking for ways to cause us to fail guys. No matter who we are. And to have a small group or an accountability partner to go behind us and check to make sure we locked the doors and windows is one of the best ways to keep ourselves from being robbed from the enemy.

Who's going behind you to make sure your safe?
