War

Things have been tough lately. To be honest with you, it's been hard to be motivated about much at all the last few days. War is all around us, in the spiritual realm, Angels and Serpents are "dancing!"

I'm not just talking about the recent resignation of our pastor. That was a big deal in many ways, but I know that he is following his heart and I wouldn't expect or want anything less from him. To do so would be selfish and not seeing the bigger picture. So it makes that aspect of the last few days a little easier, just knowing that he is following God's calling in his life.

But recently something else hit close to home. Something a little more "sobering". I will not go into detail and explain any of it but lets just say that it was like a bomb exploded right next to me and woke me up to this spiritual battle that we are facing as Christians.

As Christians we have enlisted in a cause far greater than anything we could have ever imagined. When we signed up to be in the Lord's army we took on a responsibility that, for the most part, goes unnoticed and takes the "explosion" right next to you to bring you back to reality.

To be honest, I'm in a state of "shell shock". I signed up to be in the Lord's army 7 plus years ago and things were really, "all quite on the western front" for the longest time. But as the enemy is engaging ever so harder, trying to bring God's enlisted warriors to their knees, the attacks are becoming more and more evident.

I did sign up to be in the Lord's army, as I'm sure most of you reading this have as well. This is what I would like to say to you...

You signed up for this, as did I. Now is not the time to fear, waiver, or back down. Take all that you have and all that you are and max it out! Fight the good fight for our Lord and Savior and leave nothing left unchecked on this battlefield.

Satan wants us to fail. He wants God's people to lose. Now is not the time to quit but the time to put on the full armor of God. We have to understand what is happening in the spiritual realms of things. Battles are being fought much bigger than we could ever realize and sometimes, just sometimes it takes the bomb going off right next to you to bring you back to reality. We can't be sitting idly by any longer. We've got to engage the enemy with full force!

After all, you did enlist in the Lord's army didn't you?
